Hey, I’m Emma.

I love to travel, take photos of mushrooms, explore nature, read fantasy books, sit in coffee shops, dance, sing and other cool things.

Uncomfortably, Beautifully Human is not a company but a vision with space at its heart. Space to feel seen, heard and understood. Not to be fixed or changed, but to invite reflection, to empower and resource and to allow for you to find a sense of belonging in being who you are.

My values shape everything I create.

To me, values aren’t simply words or phrases, but commitments that live and breathe through my work, actions and words. Although I’m definitely not a perfect human, having values gives me signposts that I can work towards and practice in all that I do.

The values I share with you here are related to partnership, contribution and being of service.

  • To create spaces where people are free to be who they are and where they are. To me, freedom represents the freedom of our own unique individual expression, and adventure is the journey and experience of that individual expression through our lives.

  • To create spaces that weave in moments of joy & fun. To me, joy and fun mean moments for laughter, times to not take things too seriously, times to share and experience the things that light us up.

  • To be connected to what I do and to connect with others through that. Connection is the foundation for everything that I create. Connection to me is about bringing people and ideas together in a place we can all comfortably and safely meet.

  • To stay honest and in integrity with myself, others and this work by walking the same path as you and continually being open with where I’m currently at. To me honesty and integrity is about not pedestallng myself above others, to practice sharing the truth of where I’m at, yet respecting that we all keep certain things private and close to our hearts.

  • To create spaces that embody ease. Ease, not in the sense where things aren’t without effort or challenge, but a space where we can move at the pace that’s comfortable for us both. Ease, to me, is about doing what needs to be done, in a way that doesn’t deplete or burn out our resources.

  • This can mean different things for different people. Like for me, feeling seen and heard is to simply write or talk and have that witnessed without advice, unless it’s asked for. Perhaps for you, it’s a little different. My intention is to, to my best ability, ensure that you feel seen and heard in the way that you need it, not as a way to fix or solve your problems, but as a witness in the ways that you uniquely need and with the skillsets that I have. To me, being seen and heard, means simply to not feel alone in your experience.

  • Safety also means different things for different people. For me safety is the ability to naturally be myself in an environment and not feel that I need to mask. My safety is found inside of an honest environment. My intention is to, over time, discover what safety means to you and adapt my practices to best support that. Challenges happen and I believe safety is something we’re always re-negotiating and learning about from one another, and that’s why its a central part to the partnerships I establish with others.

  • For you to feel comfortable inside of the spaces that you participate in and, in moments of discomfort, which can inevitably happen in these types of spaces, to use your voice and communicate what you need and to lean into the tools that you hold or have developed to return to a state of peace.

  • For everything that’s done and created, to be deliberate and on-purpose to the values and vision of Uncomfortably, Beautifully Human. This does not mean perfect, or that mistakes won’t be made, but to be clear about what’s being done and why it’s being done.

  • To ensure that everything I do, is sustainable for you and for me. Sustainable, to me, meaning, that you and I are both able to integrate and maintain these tools in our lives. I don’t want the spaces I create to be things you need. Rather spaces you come to for connection, community, support and to develop resources that you can use for yourself outside of our time together - whether you choose a one-off opportunity or longer term partnerships. It’s my intention to create spaces and partnerships on interdependence, where we’re not reliant on one another, but can still operate autonomously - I guess that’s kind of another value in itself.

  • Equal not hierarchal structure inside of every partnership - simply put, my experience does not make me better or more knowledgable than you. I operate with the assumption that you have the knowledge that you need inside of your being, my role is to offer you the space and resources to identify what that is for yourself and support you with putting that into practice in your life in a sustainable and practical way based on your unique needs

My motivation

That we all have something different and unique to offer to the world. It’s inside of space, both physical and energetic, that we begin to understand what that is. Whether that’s as simple as becoming a better plant mom, or as complex as building a value-driven project, it’s your vision that will motivate our work together, and it’s witnessing you do that, that motivates me.

Creating trust and building bridges.

It’s really important to me that I create trust with those I work with, as is building bridges through communication and empathy. This is why I created my Substack and Resource Library where through free community, podcasts, videos and articles, you can really get to know me in a more intimate way.
